The Best Christian Podcasts for Kids
Do you feel like your kids are getting more screen time than ever? You’re not alone! Studies have shown that screen time is surging up to 60% as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. And there is no guilt or shame in surviving the last year-and-a-half of safer-at-home, home school, no extracurriculars, and working from home in the middle of all of it. We’ve all used screens more than we used to, right?
But if you are looking for ways to decrease some screen time while keeping your kids entertained and learning, try podcasts! Did you know that there are even some really wonderful Christian podcasts for kids that teach them about God, His Word, and His love for us? Christian podcasts are a wonderful way for children to consume important and uplifting content. Just in time for summer vacation and road trips or quiet times, we’ve listed our top ten favorite Christian podcasts for kids. The Best Christian Podcasts for Kids
The Kids Bible Stories Podcast, created by Jessica White, features enriching and engaging Bible stories that teach kids about Jesus. In each podcast, there is an application session that helps children learn how the Bible applies to their lives. In this interview, Jessica White shares her heart behind the Kids BIble Stories podcasts and her passion to see children grow in their relationship with God.
Have you ever wondered why God included certain stories in the Bible? The Bible is meant to show us Jesus and His glorious gospel, yet often we can end up focusing only on Bible characters with our kids. In each episode of Jesus Is Better, Alicia Yoder shares a passage from the Bible, looks at the choices that were made and how God is at work, and then shows how God does the same for us–only better–in Jesus. Alicia also has a blog, Considering the Lillies, where she discusses more in-depth each podcast episode.

Creator Chuck Swindoll introduces listeners to the world of Paws and Tales. The entire family will enjoy the lessons on faith, courage, kindness, and other values. Each episode teaches the listener the importance of fully relying on God. The podcast educates children on how faith and the Gospel apply to life in every season, situation, and circumstance. Adventures in Odyssey’s motto is “bringing back biblical principles to life with just the right balance of fun, faith, and imagination.”

The Village Church wanted a way to convey the stories in the bible to young listeners in a way that would gain their interest and attention and cultivate a lifelong passion and pursuit for God’s Word. They created the podcast God’s Big Story to share the Bible in a way that children can understand. The mission of God’s Big Story is to teach young listeners that the Bible is all a part of God’s Big Story. The Village Church has a Facebook page and website dedicated to the podcasts, with resources, videos and even lesson plans to go along with the podcast episodes.
Discovery Mountain is a podcast that is more of “kids audio drama” centered around discussion of biblical topics while incorporating song, adventure, and mystery. Discovery Mountain listeners experience campfire songs and engaging storylines, but most importantly get to know and grow their relationship with Jesus.
Creator of Doughnuts and Devos podcast Marifaith explains on her blog that the mission of Doughnuts and Devos is to share the truth, joy, and love of God’s Word for kids and families. Listen and learn as Sherilyn Grant’s Truth Seekers podcast takes you through many Bible stories. The host hopes to give listeners a deep understanding of the ways of the Lord; his many plans and the love that he has for humanity. The mission of the podcast is to help children see the individual stories of the Bible as part of one large story that reveals God’s redemptive plan to rescue and restore us back to Himself. Kathy’s Kids Storytime is a weekly podcast for ages 3-12 where young listeners hear Ms. Kathy tell stories that share life lessons and Christian values. Produced and created by Reframe Ministries, Kids Corner is a half-hour adventure for kids (ages 6-12). The show follows Lizarardo “Liz” Lacerta and his reptilian friends in the little town of Terrene. In a quest for fun, Liz and his pals often get themselves into trouble! With the help of their parents and other grown-up lizards like Grandpa Anole and Granny Gecko, they wrestle with the challenges and drama of childhood, finding real answers in the Bible.
