While out tending his flock, David entertains himself by entering into imaginary battles. The fun and games soon turn real when a lion shows up with eyes for Tali, David’s favorite lamb.
David tries to save a stuck sheep, only to discover that it belongs to King Saul. The king’s shepherd, Doeg, is unhappy with David’s interference. Now, David must decide if he’ll pay the price Doeg demands.
When a sheep gets lost in a storm, David’s oldest brother Eliab encourages him to leave it. But David won’t abandon the sheep, even if it means putting himself at risk. Unfortunately for David, this particular sheep always attracts the worst kind of trouble.
David has finally been handed down the family’s special lyre and he wants the first song he writes with it to be extra special. But inspiration isn’t coming. Try as he might he just can’t seem to find it until he ends up in a dangerous situation and realizes that inspiration and connection with GOD can come from unexpected places.
David’s little sister, Zeruiah, is complaining about being little and having to go to bed. David helps her through this ‘dark time’ by showing her how to talk to and connect with God. And that spending time in worship is food for the soul.
