Statement of Faith

Minno Statement of Faith

At Minno, we believe in the always awesome, ever-flowing goodness and love of God.

The name Minno comes from the Greek word meaning “to abide.” We want families to know God’s Word and experience Him daily. Our love for God and His Word guides everything we do.

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), that He made us in His own image (Genesis 1:26), and that He made us for relationship with Him because He loves us deeply (Jeremiah 31:3). We believe that sin broke our relationship with God and separated us from Him (Isaiah 59:2), but through His mercy (Exodus 34:6–7), God had a plan to make things right with us again and restore our broken relationship with Him (Romans 5:8).

We believe that Jesus is the only son of God (John 1:14), was born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:23) and dwelled on earth as fully human (Galatians 4:4) and fully God (Colossians 2:9). Because of His love for us, Jesus died on the cross for our sins (Romans 3:24–26) and rose again, defeating death (1 Corinthians 15:57) and guaranteeing forgiveness for everyone who believes in Him (1 John 1:9).

We believe there is one God, existing in three persons—God the Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit is our Helper (John 14:26) as we live the life of faith (Galatians 5:22–23).

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God (1 Thessalonians 2:13), that it is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and that it is the guidebook for our lives (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

We believe that Jesus will come again (1 Thessalonians 4:17). We believe that God will dwell again with us in a new heaven and new earth, and that He will make all things new (Revelation 21).

How does what we believe affect what we do?

We believe that as God’s people, we are called to love others (John 13:34) and spread the good news about Jesus (Mark 16:15). Our faith in Jesus transforms the way we live (2 Corinthians 5:17)
and compels us to share the wow and wonder of God with our neighbors, employees, customers, friends, and families (Colossians 2:2).

We believe that kids are a vital part of the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:14). We believe in equipping parents to lead their families in a life of faith (Proverbs 1:8–9) and conversations and experiences that matter. We believe through God’s great grace grownups have the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Jesus as they lead children to find and follow Him (Colossians 2:7).

We believe in the importance of the local church, and we are grateful for the ways God has worked and is working through His global Church (Ephesians 2:20–22). We believe all families who follow Jesus will find growth at Minno.

We believe in the power of stories that invite everyone to step into the wonder of Creation, walk in God’s peace, and jump into His joy. God made us to laugh, to have fun, to learn, to grow, and to experience a full life (John 10:10). And that’s what we hope you do every day at Minno.
